Have you ever felt that sometimes, just sometimes, you have a moment of real reflection on your life? Suddenly today, in my meditation time, I really looked at what I’ve dug myself into. I’ll cross 100k in student loan debt this year, and I have no hope of paying it down. I’ve got a home and my dogs, but I’ve got myself so stuck I’m desperate to find a way out. I’ve got so many ideas, so many adventures I would LOVE to have, but I’m stuck.
In a perfect world, I would have a little RV and spend the year traveling to learn from different witches, kinksters, and artists around this beautiful continent on which I live. I want to be able to explore, take beautiful photos, and learn about all of these people and places so I can share all of that experience. Unfortunately, my choices have led me to a place of buried in my own debt, baggage, and history. When and how do we shake off these chains? How do we shake off this baggage and find a way to explore those needs?
I’ve been doing a lot of Shadow Work lately in my exploration of Norse Heathenism and I thought I would take a moment today to create a short blogpost and encourage anyone who reads it and feels similarly to me to explore the questions below. I’ll be posting an updated post next week discussing my personal answers on each of these. If you’d like to participate or be included in my posts about this in the future, please answer the questions below in the comments. If you would rather be anonymous, you can certainly send them to me through the contact form.
As you review these questions and answer them, don’t judge yourself. Just answer them as honestly as possible without judgement or dismissal.
Just as a reminder, I am not a mental health professional. These questions are exclusively intended to be a reflective activity for you to reflect on your own self and habits. Please seek professional help if you need it. I’ve linked some resources at the bottom of this post.
